In 2017, I was given the privilege to co-anchor a paid 30-minute Saturday weekly broadcast sponsored by the Provincial Government of Isabela together with the Provincial Information Officer, Mr. Jessie James P. Geronimo. The segment “Nagkaisa Para Sa Isabela” focused on updates on the programs, projects and activities of the provincial local government unit. I was also a regular guest in the past decades most especially during public holidays wherein local and natio

Personal contributions from the JCI Senators coming from Cauayan City, Cabatuan, Roxas, Echague and San Mateo made up the community pantry which benefitted more than a thousand souls. This phenomenon was initiated by 26-year-old Ana Patricia Non at Maginhawa Community Pantry in Quezon City. Her simple act of kindness sparked a nationwide movement. More and more community pantry sprouted in the metropolis and in the countryside. A handwritten slogan can be spotted on cardboard p

We instantly refer to one of the three martyred Filipino Catholic priest, collectively known as the GomBurZa, who was executed by  garrote  on February 17, 1872 in Bagumbayan (now Rizal Park) by  Spanish colonial authorities  on charges of subversion brought about by the  1872 Cavite Mutiny . The execution of José Apolonio Burgos y García, born on February 9, 1837, made him a martyr of the period before the Philippine Revolution. His name is immortalized by the naming of streets, barangays and even towns in our country. Seven municipalities are named after the martyred priest located in the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Q

This year marks the 276 th foundation of Angadanan and today we commemorate the 256 th establishment as an ecclesiastical mission. As a local historian, I am very much thrilled to share this historical event which is a rare and an almost unknown fact to Isabeleños. On November 18, 2016, I posted on Facebook and on my blog an article entitled “From One Place To Another” narrating the relocation of pueblos in Batangas province during the Spanish period. I also men
