My mom and I came to know Hon. Reyes when he was mayor. He would frequent the Office of Senator Heherson T. Alvarez to make sure he bring home projects for his beloved municipality. Hon. Reyes’ daughter, Cecilia Claire (Jeng), was a co-member in the 1st National Youth Parliament and later in the National Movement of Young Legislators. His only son, Ramon Jose Jr. (RJ), was a fellow Councilor and a colleague of my wife at the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Isabela. At present, Hon. Reyes’ daughter in law, Gayzle (Gege), and my

I browsed her Facebook account and scheduled a visit at her home after lunch today. I also learned that the September 26 national exam pride is a niece of my former staff at the Isabela Tourism Office (ITO), Ms. Jessah Andrea Reynaldo Domingo of Barangay Barucboc in Quezon town. During Jessah’s stay in the ITO, she temporarily resided at her older sister’s house whose daughter is this year’s Number 1. Jessah owns the Andrea’s Paper Beads which is featured in the coffee t

Mobility was controlled and this affected tourism not only of our country but around the globe. As the months went by, the Department of Tourism (DOT) and my office, the Isabela Tourism Office, continued to monitor the plight of tourism in Cagayan Valley. Last month, the DOT Regional Office sent a letter invitation for a familiarization tour with business to business meetings in the Visayas which was originally scheduled from August 26 to 28 this year. The Governor authorized me to att

With this year’s celebration of the Quincentennial of Christianity in the Philippines (1521-2021), I scribbled a number of historical articles and researches to commemorate this once in a lifetime celebration. As I strolled around the city center of Cebu, I stumbled, for the first time, on the monument of Rajah Humabon at the plaza also named after this pre-Spanish period chieftain. Humabon is also identified as Hamabar and Humabad in other historical manuscripts.    I reached the fenced Plaza Humabar located across the Archdiocesan Museum of Cebu in Mabi

Jasmin Cabang Lapuz-Miano, filed her third Certificate of Candidacy for Sangguniang Bayan Member of our beloved town Cabatuan this morning. If elected, she will hold the distinction of serving four consecutive terms under the Local Government Code of 1991 (Republic Act 7160). Her first term was an appointment to fill up the vacancy brought about by my resignation on September 15, 2015 to accept the appointment as Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (PPDC) of Isabela. She served my unexpired term from October 14, 2015 up to June 30, 2016. In 2019, she served as an ex-officio member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Isabela representing the Philip

Every Foundation Day Celebrations, I strongly recommended that boxing should be included in the various events under the Committee on Sports.Though not a hardcore fan of boxing, I observed that most Filipino boxers of present-day came from southern Philippines. This made me dream of having a national champion boxer from the north particularly from my town or at least from the province of Isabela. Punong Barangay Juanito “Juaning” E. Hidalgo and LGU employee Gregorio P. Topinio were my partners in the promotion of amateur boxing in my town. T
